Bourse Excellence Master 2

The department of mathematics of Université Paris 13 offers two one year fellowships for graduate students willing to prepare a Master 2 in Pure or Applied mathematics.

We propose every year high level courses in the main research themes represented in the department, namely :

• Arithmetic and algebraic geometry,
  
• Algebraic topology,
  
• Ergodic theory and dynamical systems,
  
• Mathematics for information and image processing,
  
• Modeling and Analysis,
  
• Mathematical Physics and PDEs,
  
• Probability theory and Statistics.

Candidates are supposed to be outstanding students in mathematics who have completed the first four years of university.

The department offers a financial support of 10 300 euros for the ten months of the academic year, and refunds moreover a round trip ticket to Paris.

Applications should include

• a letter of motivation of the candidate,
  
• a copy of the last diploma,
  
• a copy of the marks obtained during the current year and the preceding one and
  
• a letter of  recommendation written by a professor of the University of the candidate. 

These four documents should be sent exclusively by email to Philippe Fleurance , before March 31, 2012.

The Selection Committee will make its decision at the latest on April 16th, 2012.
The candidates will be warned by email in the following week.

Université Paris 13 is also one of the members of the Masters PGSM program of Fondation des Sciences Mathématiques de Paris.

This program proposes two years fellowships, corresponding to the whole Master cursus, to students who have successfully completed the first three years of university.
